Srinagar, August 4: The Governing Council of Culture (GCC) has expressed deep grief over the passing of its esteemed member and former Commissioner Secretary, G.A. Peer, a veteran civil servant who served Jammu and Kashmir with distinction since 1977.
In its condolence message, GCC remembered Mr. Peer as an exceptional officer, known for his unwavering dedication to public service and a deep sense of compassion for the people he served. “He was a man of great integrity, intellect, and sincerity—respected for his wisdom and tireless work ethic. His legacy will remain a benchmark for administrative excellence in Jammu and Kashmir,” the statement read.
The GCC acknowledged the profound loss to the administrative community and paid tribute to Mr. Peer’s decades of meritorious service.
