Heavy Vehicles Barred on Gurian-Katersamna Road in Kishtwar Till Jan 31

Kishtwar, Jan 10 (KNC): The District Magistrate, Kishtwar, has ordered a temporary restriction on the movement of heavy vehicles on the Gurian-Katersamna road in view of ongoing road restoration works.

According to the order as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, the stretch from Gurian to Katersamna will remain closed for all heavy vehicular traffic from January 11 to January 31, 2026, to facilitate the smooth execution of construction works, including retaining walls, boundary walls, pucca drains and culverts under the road restoration programme.

The Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B), Division Kishtwar, has been directed to complete the works within the stipulated timeframe and ensure adequate safety measures such as proper barricading and installation of cautionary signboards at the site.

The Senior Superintendent of Police, Kishtwar, has been asked to ensure strict enforcement of the order. The restrictions have been imposed in the interest of public safety and smooth traffic management. (KNC)
