154 drug peddlers arrested in 119 cases since last 5 months,
Reasi Police during surprise naka & Searches recovered Heroin, Poppy straw, illicit liquor, money proceeds of drugs trade and arrested two drug peddlers.
Team of Police check Post Balini during checking noticed suspicious movement of one person who was coming from Reasi towards Katra, was chased and stopped for checking. Sensing suspicion about drug peddling Executive Magistrate was called on the spot.
During checking in the presence of Executive Magistrate 43.5 gms of heroin like substance having illegal market sale price of more than 2.5 lacs to drug consumers. Drugs money 43,500/- as proceeds of illegal sale of narcotics recovered from the possession of Pawan Singh @Pammi S/O Vakil Singh R/O Sherwud Katra.
On this case FIR no 203/2021 under section 8, 21, 22 NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station katra and the accused arrested & investigation set in to unearth forward and backward linkages with other drug suppliers & consumers.
Pertinantly Pawan Singh is a notorious drug peddler of the area earlier arrested by team of Police Station Katra with 40.5 gms of Heroin. For which he is facing trial in FIR No 27/2020 under section 8, 21, 22 NDPS Act in Hon’ble Session Courts Reasi.
In another incident of drug peddling team of Police Station Reasi laid a surprise naka at IRP Chowk Reasi and during surprise checking one tempo bearing registration number JK02AS 7616 driven by one Taj Mohd S/O Mohd Rafiq R/O Pouni coming from Pouni to Reasi was intercepted and during checking recovered poppy straw and 13 bottles of XXX Rum 750 ml each from the possession of the driver of the vehicle.
On this FIR no. 179/2021 US 8, 15 NDPS Act and 48 a Excise act is registered in Police Station Reasi, accused arrested, Vehicle seized & further investigation started to arrest the other accused in the chain.
War against drugs continue in Reasi under the banner “EK YUDH NASHE KE VIRUDH” an initiative of Sh Shailender Singh SSP Reasi against drug abuse is stretching to every nook and corner of the jurisdiction. In which Banned Drugs are being seized, and offenders are being arrested.
Under the drive, Reasi Police registered 119 Case FIRs of drug abuse & illicit liquor against 154 offenders since Mr Shalinder took over the charge of SSP Reasi in ending March 2021.
Mr Singh conveyed that drug abuse is a cause of concern for today’s world and time has come that people from all sections of society should come forward and join hands with Police in a fight against drug abuse to eradicate this menace from society and save our future generations.
Further added that Reasi Police’s War against drug abuse shall continue till the last nail in the coffin.
