Police Wednesday detained 15 persons including an Imam for violating prohibitory orders in North Kashmir’s Bandipora. Police also seized 12 vehicles in the same district.
SSP Bandipora Rahul Malik told that some people were seen in the district violating government orders and were roaming freely. Some were busy in gossips on shop fronts. “We have arrested 15 persons and registered formal cases against them,” he said adding that 12 vehicles that were plying unnecessarily on road were seized.
SDPO Sumbal, Muhammad Asif said that a clergy-man was arrested for leading prayers at a local mosque at Ajas Market. “This Imam not only violated the social distancing concept but also put the lives of other people to risk,” he added.
