SRINAGAR 02 Sep : The Jammu and Kashmir Government has promoted three Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySPs) of the General Cadre to the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP) with immediate effect.

The promotions were approved through Government Order No. 451-Home of 2026, issued by the Home Department on September 2 on the recommendations of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JK PSC).

The officers promoted are Suresh Kumar Sharma (PID No. KPS125769), Nissar Ahmad Darzi (PID No. KPS125833) and Varun Jandial (PID No. KPS125765).

The three officers have been placed in Pay Level-11, carrying a pay scale of Rs 67,700–Rs 2,08,700, with their promotions effective immediately.

The order followed a JK PSC communication dated August 18, 2026, conveying its recommendations on the promotions. The Home Department also took into consideration a communication from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), JK, dated August 20, 2026.
