SRINAGAR 02 Sep : National Conference MP Choudhary Ramzan on Wednesday called for the restoration of statehood and constitutional rights in Jammu and Kashmir, saying the party would continue reminding the Centre of its commitments.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an NC protest, Ramzan said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah needed to be reminded of what he described as “unfulfilled promises” to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

“Our demand is that the promises made to the people of Jammu and Kashmir should be fulfilled,” Ramzan said, reiterating the NC’s demand for restoration of statehood and constitutional rights.

He said the party would continue raising the issue through protests at regular intervals until the Centre fulfilled its commitments.

“We will keep reminding them until the promises are fulfilled,” he said.
