SRINAGAR 16 Jul : The Jammu and Kashmir Government has initiated the process of examining representations submitted by contractual teachers appointed in 2017 and 2018 in the School Education Department, seeking continuation of their services.

According to an official communication issued by the School Education Department, Civil Secretariat, the Director of School Education, Jammu and Kashmir, has been asked to examine the matter and furnish relevant details to facilitate consideration of the representations.

The communication, issued vide No. Edu-NGK/315/2021-01-(85095) dated June 16, 2026, states that copies of various representations submitted by contractual teachers engaged during 2017 and 2018 have been forwarded for examination.

The department has sought details including the number of such teachers, the present requirement, the terms of their engagement at the relevant time, and other related information, so that the matter can be examined accordingly.

The letter was issued by Braham Raj, JKAS, Deputy Secretary to the Government, School Education Department.

Subsequently, the Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ), through Communication no. DSEJ/NG/Tr/C.No.9088409/30004-13 dated July 3, 2026, forwarded the administrative department’s letter to all Chief Education Officers of Jammu Division for information and necessary action.
