Jammu and Kashmir, Legislative Assembly, on Monday condemned the attack on MLA Bani, Dr Rameshwar Singh.

“This is a genuine concern for all of us which the members have raised. We condemn the attack and it should be thoroughly investigated,” Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather said in the Assembly.

The issue was raised by Rameshwar Singh, later supported by other MLA’s, at the start of the session and demanded a time-bound inquiry into the attack.

The Bani MLA was manhandled on Saturday night by a group of protestors when he visited the sub-district hospital at Billawar to meet the families of three deceased civilians.

However, the Speaker said that any matter in which an inquiry has already been ordered shall not be discussed in the House.
