Srinagar, March 10: Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has categorically stated that the government had no role in the recently held fashion show in Gulmarg, which has sparked widespread outrage, particularly due to its timing during the holy month of Ramzan.
Addressing the controversy, CM Omar Abdullah emphasized that the event was not organized or endorsed by the government. His remarks come amid growing public anger, with many questioning how such an event was permitted in the first place. The Chief Minister reiterated that his office has already sought a detailed report from local authorities regarding the matter, and appropriate action will follow based on the findings.
Meanwhile, Omar Abdullah also raised concerns over the denial of permission to the Deputy Chief Minister to visit Kathua. Questioning the rationale behind this decision, he pointed out the need for a transparent and consistent approach in administrative matters. The restriction has sparked debate, with many viewing it as politically motivated.
As public discourse around both issues intensifies, the J&K administration is expected to provide further clarifications in the coming days.
