J&K Police Orders Major Reshuffle; 21 Inspectors Adjusted, 18 Ministerial Staff Transferred

Srinagar 07 Sep : The Jammu and Kashmir Police Headquarters has ordered a major reshuffle of police personnel, issuing two separate orders involving the adjustment of 21 Inspectors (M) and the transfer of 18 officers and officials of the Ministerial Executive Cadre.

According to Order No. 2505 of 2026, issued by Police Headquarters, Srinagar, following the promotion of the concerned Inspectors to their present rank, 21 Inspectors (M) have been adjusted in different wings, zones and units of the J&K Police.

Among the officers, Insp. (M) Reyaz Ahmad has been adjusted in Kashmir Zone, while Insp. (M) Doos Ahmad, Insp. (M) Nazir Ahmad, Insp. (M) Sajad Ahmad, Insp. (M) Fayaz Ahmad, Insp. (M) Sanjay Kumar, Insp. (M) Hafizullah Dar and Insp. (M) Rakesh Gupta have been adjusted in the Armed Zone.

Insp. (M) Mohammad Ayoub has been adjusted in the Traffic Wing, while Insp. (M) Mohammad Afzal has been posted to the Crime Branch. Insp. (M) Paramjeet Singh has been adjusted in Telecom, whereas Insp. (M) Surinder Kumar and Insp. (M) Jasvinder Singh have been placed in Security.

The order further places Insp. (M) Soni Kumar in 7 J&K AP Sec, Insp. (M) Satish Kumar and Insp. (M) Pawan Kumar in Jammu Zone, and Insp. (M) Kulbir Chand and Insp. (M) Parveen Kumar at Police Headquarters. Insp. (M) Susheel Sharma has also been adjusted in Jammu Zone, while Insp. (M) Rajinder Magotra has been posted to CID/SIA. Insp. (M) Mohd Nayaz has been adjusted in Jammu Zone.

The order stated that, to facilitate the drawal of pay of the Inspectors figuring at serial numbers 6, 10 and 12, one post of Inspector (M) from Headquarters has been attached with the Crime Branch till the superannuation of Inspector (M) Mohammad Afzal in February 2027.

Similarly, one post of Inspector (M) from the overall strength of the Armed Zone has been attached with 7 J&K AP Sec Battalion. The post vacated by retired Inspector (M) Jia Lal, PID No. MEG935947, on his superannuation has been withdrawn from SKPAU and further attached to Jammu Zone.

The officers have been directed to be relieved forthwith, and the order has been issued with the approval of the Director General of Police (DGP), J&K.

Traffic Wing Reshuffle: 18 Ministerial Cadre Officials Transferred

In a separate Order No. 2504 of 2026, the J&K Police Headquarters has also ordered transfers of officers and officials belonging to the Ministerial Executive Cadre, with immediate effect.

Under the order, nine officials have been transferred from the Traffic Wing to different places.

Those transferred to Jammu Zone include L Inspector (S) Ruby Dhar, SI (M) Naresh Kumar, SI (M) Ravinder Singh, SI (M) Ashwani Kumar, SI (M) Naresh Kumar and HC (M) Zahid Iqbal.

L SI (M) Ishrat Jan, SI (M) Mushtaq Ahmad and ASI (M) Mohammad Akber have been transferred to Kashmir Zone.

Consequent upon these transfers, nine officers and officials from different units have been transferred to the Traffic Wing.

These include L Inspector (S) Anju Pandita from Jammu Zone, SI (M) Aijaz Ahmad Dar from Kashmir Zone, SI (M) Shahinwaz Ahmad from Security, and ASI (M) Ganesh Dutt, ASI (M) Rajinder Saini, ASI (M) Randhir Singh, ASI (M) Harvinder Singh and HC (M) Vikram Singh from Jammu Zone.

ASI (M) Shabir Ahmad has been transferred to the Traffic Wing from Kashmir Zone.

The transferred officials have also been directed to join their new places of posting forthwith.

Both orders have been digitally signed by Mubassir Latifi (IPS), DIG Personnel, J&K Police Headquarters, and issued with the approval of the DGP, J&K.
