J&K Solar Association meets CM Omar Abdullah, Minister Satish Sharma

Srinagar, May 5 : The Jammu and Kashmir Solar Association on Tuesday met Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Minister for Science and Technology Satish Sharma, pushing for a major expansion of rooftop solar systems across the Union Territory, officials said.

The meeting, held at the minister’s residence in Church Lane, took place on the directions of the Chief Minister, who assured the delegation of full government support for solar projects in far-flung and underserved areas, they added.

Minister Satish Sharma reiterated the UT administration’s commitment to strengthening clean and sustainable energy infrastructure.

He directed Jammu and Kashmir Energy Development Agency (JAKEDA) CEO Dhar to resolve all pending issues of the association in a time-bound manner, ensuring smoother and faster implementation of solar initiatives.

The delegation appreciated the minister’s proactive approach and expressed optimism that the steps would significantly boost solar energy adoption across Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.
