Srinagar, May 5: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar said that Jammu and Kashmir will witness generally stable weather over the next few days, with brief spells of rain expected at scattered places and a gradual rise in temperatures.
According to the MeT department, the past 24 hours recorded varied weather conditions across the Union Territory, while the forecast for May 5 indicates brief spells of light rain and thundershowers at scattered locations, mainly during afternoon hours.
The department said that from May 6 to 9, weather is expected to remain largely dry, although isolated areas may receive brief afternoon showers. However, conditions are likely to turn unsettled between May 10 and 12, with generally cloudy skies and one or two spells of light to moderate rain or thundershowers at scattered to many places.
“Thunder, lightning and gusty winds with speeds of 40–50 kmph are expected at a few places across Kashmir and parts of Jammu division during this period,” the advisory said.
From May 13 to 15, the weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy across the region.
The MeT department has advised farmers to resume agricultural activities from Tuesday, as weather conditions are expected to remain mostly favourable in the coming days.
Meanwhile, a gradual increase in daytime temperatures by 2–3 degrees Celsius is also expected at many places across Jammu and Kashmir starting Tuesday.
