Srinagar, June 26: Khwaja Farooq Renzushah, accompanied by prominent figures and presidents of various Shahar-e-Khass organizations, visited Shahar-e-Khasson Wednesday. During his visit, he addressed the DamdaarTasawuf function near Hazrat Abu Bakar R.T mosque in Khanyar and briefed the media at the historical Shahar-e-KhassDarwaza, which he constructed during his tenure as Commissioner of Municipality while building the Sheikh ul Aalam Darwaza of SMC.
Renzushah demanded full compensation for the fire victims of Bohri Kadal, highlighting the urgent need for support. He emphasized that the city’s heritage and culture must be preserved, criticizing the current Smart City project for neglecting the ancient culture and Tasawuf of Kashmir.
Proposing solutions to the city’s infrastructural issues, Renzushah suggested constructing a Dubai-style flyover from WAQAF Gulmarg Hotel to Shalimar fore shore, and a return route from Hazratbal to Khanyar Shahar-e-KhassDarwaza. He believes these measures are essential to alleviate the city’s traffic problems.
Renzushah further advocated for renaming the Smart City project to “Tasawuf City of Civil Shahar-e-Khass& Interior Shahar-e-Khass” to reflect the city’s rich cultural heritage and the foundational vision initiated at Shahar-e-KhassDarwaza.
