Kohli directs officials to keep check on black marketing of sacrificial animals

Jammu, Aug 29 : Minister for Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries, Abdul Gani Kohli today held separate meetings to review the availability of sacrificial animals, trout fish, and poultry birds for ensuing Eid-ul-Azha.

The Minister was informed that sufficient stock of sacrificial animals is available in the State. The Minister asked the concerned to ensure that the Veterinary Doctors should be available at every mandi to check the health of animals. He also called for proper monitoring of animals and poultry birds in markets to ensure that they don’t carry any disease.

Kohli directed the officers of concerned Departments to constitute market checking squads to keep a check on black marketing of sacrificial animals. He also asked the Fisheries Department to ensure sufficient stock of trout fish in the market and deploy mobile vans to ensure easy accessibility of trout fish in the markets.  

            Among others, Directors of Animal and Sheep Husbandry Departments Jammu, Director, Fisheries, Deputy Director and Head Confederation of Indian Industry, Chairman J&K Cooperative Union and other concerned officers were present in the meetings
