“We Are Not Invited with Respect” says BAK
Lawyers body namely Kulgam Bar Association (KBA) on Thursday boycotted the function organised during the visit of Chief Justice Pankaj Mittal.
On the occasion Chief Justice Inaugrated District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) offices to make justice accessible to all.
Pertaining the boycott call, Bar President Advocate Mohammad, Shafi, Secretary Advocate Ishfaq , joint Secretary advocate Junaid and other advocates present addressed a Press conference in which they claimed that were not invited with respect.
While apologising Chief Justice for the boycott, they added that there was no way other this as Lawyers tried to raise their issues but were not given the opportunity to do so, forcing them to boycott.
On the question of presence of a few lawyers in the Kulgam Court during the visit of the Chief Justice, Bar Association expressed its displeasure and expressed dissatisfaction with him adding that such isolated cases are common.
They also said that they aren’t given a chance to enter court premises despite cases of emergency nature.
Members of BAK claimed that common people are not getting justice they have not seen premises of court from last month despite repeated requests by BAK.
It is pertinent to mention that on Thursday Chief Justice Pankaj Mittal visited Court Complex Kulgam for Inaugration of DLSA. (CNS)
