Qazigund, June 28 : As part of the elaborate security arrangements for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2026, Kulgam Police, in close coordination with the Border Security Force (BSF) and other security agencies, on Sunday conducted a comprehensive joint mock drill at Railway Station Qazigund.
The exercise was aimed at assessing the preparedness of security forces, strengthening inter-agency coordination, and enhancing emergency response capabilities to effectively deal with any security-related contingencies during the annual pilgrimage.
During the mock drill, various emergency scenarios were simulated to evaluate the operational readiness of the participating agencies. The exercise focused on improving coordination, swift response mechanisms, and ensuring seamless communication among all security stakeholders deployed for the yatra.
Officials said such joint drills form an integral part of the overall security strategy for SANJY-2026 and are intended to ensure a safe, secure, and incident-free pilgrimage for thousands of devotees expected to visit the holy Amarnath Cave Shrine.
The successful conduct of the mock drill reflects the commitment of Kulgam Police and allied security forces towards maintaining a robust security grid and ensuring the smooth conduct of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026.(KNC)
