On the auspicious occasion of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and to commemorate the contribution of the Mahatma in shaping today’s India, Honorable Chairman Khadi and Village Industries Commission on 01.10.2020 has Launched 150 activities across the country.
In a statement issued reads that Khadi and Village Industries Commission, Ministry of MSME, GoI as a part of its objective to provide employment to youth, has started a campaign to empower them through training in various trades.
“In this connection, Production Cum Training Centre (PMTC), KVIC, Pampore has already started training in 11 disciplines at various places in Kashmir Region” they added.
The training is being provided in Willow Work, Crewel Embroidery, Weaving of Shawls and Tweed, Sozni Embroidery and Cutting and Tailoring in Village of Dodbugh, Tehsil: Wagoora, District: Baramulla, Village: Pahlipora, Tehsil: Safapora, District: Ganderbal, Village: Khrew, Tehsil: Pampore, District: Pulwama, PMTC, Pampore, Village &Tehsil: Safapora, District: Ganderbal, Wani Mohalla Kulgam, District: Kulgam, Village: Okey, Tehsil: Kulgam, District: Kulgam, Village: Saloosa, Tehsil: Wagoora, District: Baramulla and Village: Checkpeth, Tehsil: Dooru of District Anantnag respectively.
Hon’ble Chairman KVIC Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena inaugurated the training programme at Village Safapora of Ganderbal, PMTC Pampore and Village Dodbugh of Baramulla via video conferencing.
Shri Anil Kumar Sharma, Principal, PMTC, Pampore/Assistant Director have stated that all the trades in which the training has started are tradition to the Kashmir region and will help in reviving the traditional arts and will create employment opportunities for rural unemployed youths.
Shri S.P. Khandelwal, State Director, KVIC, Jammu & Kashmir informed that KVIC will help these trained beneficiaries to avail loans under PMEGP scheme for self employment. He also added that on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on 02.10.2020, 100 number of Electric Potter’s Wheel will be distributed to trained Potters at Palhallan, Baramulla and training will be provided to 50 potters.
Shri S.P. Khandelwal also informed the people of J&K to avail the various facilities of these schemes of KVIC. He also stated that such endeavours of KVIC will continue in near future also. (CNS)
