Manhandling: SMC employees stage protest against Councillor

Dozens of Srinagar Municipal Corporation employees staged a protest demanding action against who according to them abused and manhandled two employees including a female in Pantha Chowk area of Srinagar city.

Witnesses told that dozens of SMC employees assembled in Pantha Chowk area and staged protest against a Councillor of Ward number 5 Pantha Chowk. They alleged that the said Councillor Latif Mir manhandled and abused two SMC employees Fatima Karim of Batwara and Mehrajuddin Sheikh of Kulgam.

“Both these employees are posted at Athwajan,” they said.

The protesting employees demanded stern action against the erring Councillor.

They sought intervention of Mayor Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Junaid Azim Matuu. ( KNT )
