Shopian, Sept 18: The District Information Centre (DIC) Shopian has established a dedicated Media Centre to ensure effective information management during the Assembly Elections.

Officials said that the Media Centre will play a pivotal role in coordinating media activities during pre-polling, polling, and counting days, facilitating seamless communication and timely updates.

They said a comprehensive plan has been set in motion to coordinate media efforts, deliver real-time election updates, and combat misinformation.

“ The Media Centre will focus on promoting a positive narrative, highlighting the importance of peaceful voting and diverse voter participation, with special emphasis on women, specially-abled individuals, and first-time voters,” officials said.

They added that on polling day, videographers and photographers were deployed across both Assembly Constituencies, particularly at Special Polling Stations, to ensure thorough coverage of election activities.

“ Regular updates are being disseminated every two hours via social media platforms, keeping the public and media informed throughout the day,” they said, adding that to enhance transparency, LED screens have been installed to display live counting trends, and a Public Address System (PAS) is providing updates at regular intervals.
