MGNREGA workers of Kupwara’s Mawer Qalamabad Block demand release of pending payments

Labourers working under MGNREGA in Block Mawer Qalamabad area of Qalamabad in Kupwara district on Thursday urged the authorities to release their Labors Payments and material payments, which are pending for the last 4 Months.Labourers, while talking to Kashmir News Services (KNS) said that their material payments for the Month November And January have not been released by the authorities, thereby making them suffer a lot.They said that they have borrowed loans to buy the Labor Payment And material Payment for these workers, however, despite passing of around 4 Months , payments have not been released as yet.The labourers said they have no source of income and their hard-earned money has been withheld by the RDD for reasons best known to them.They urged the Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, Director RDD Kashmir, and deputy commissioner Kupwara to intervene into the matter.
