Odhisa Police on Monday said its investigation to trace out the missing MBBS student Suhail Aijaz of Kashmir was going on but no clue has been found so far. It, however, reiterated that Maoist angle stands completely ruled out.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Bhubaneswar Satyabrata Bhoi told a Srinagar-based news agency that a team of Odhisa police deputed to Gurgaon, New Delhi has returned without any success.
He said police was looking into other angles to trace out the youth. “We are looking into his call detail records but nothing incriminating has been found so far,” DCP said.
Suhail Aijaz, a resident of Marsari, Chowkibal, Kupwara of north Kashmir, pursuing MBBS since 2016 at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bhubaneswar, Odisha, went missing on Feb 9 two days after his parents transferred some money in his account on his asking.
The family returned disappointed from Odhisa and three of its members met with an accident after a vehicle Tata Bolt rammed into a tree at Unisoo along Srinagar-Kupwara highway on Saturday.
Two brothers Liyaqat Kataria and Mushtaq Ahmad Kataria sons of Alif Din Kataria were killed in the mishap while as the father of the MBBS student was injured and is on a ventilator at SKIMS Soura.
