Two minor brothers killed in a fire in Jammu

Jammu, Mar 19  2018

Two minor siblings were today charred to death after their house was gutted in a fire here, police said.

Five-year-old Ishtiaq Ahmad and his three-year-old younger brother Ishfaq Ahmad were burnt to death in the fire which charred their wood and tin house at Bathindi in the outskirts of the Jammu city this evening, a police official said.

Both the children were alone in the house when the fire broke out, he said.

The cause of the fire was not known immediately, the spokesman said adding the charred bodies of the deceased were taken to a hospital and would be handed over to their father after legal formalities.

The family hails from Kishtwar district and shifted to Jammu sometime back, the official said. (PTI)
