SRINAGAR: Top Bollywood filmmakers have descended on Jammu to judge the All India Devotional Song Competition being organized by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) to celebrate Navratra Festival
The final would be held on Tuesday at Katra.
The judges include Ganesh Jain, Chairman of Venus Records & Tapes Ltd. A top filmmaker, he has produced over 50 movies including Khiladi, Baazigar, Main Khiladi Tu Anari, Yes Boss, Badshah, Dhadkan, Hamraaz, Hungama, Hulchul, Garam Masala, Aap Ki Khatir, De Dana Dhan, etc. He was the man who introduced Shilpa Shetty, and Akshay Kumar.
Other judges include Gordhan Tanwani, who produced films like Ishq, Pyar to Hona Hi Tha, Dulhan Hum Le Jayegay, etc, and Rishi Raj who helmed Hatya, Pehla Pyar, Mahir, Savera Hua, Anokhee Tasveer, Darkness. Besides, Kumar Mohan Film Trade Analyst and playback singer Shanker Sawhney will also be judges on Tuesday
Rakesh Wazir, Chairman, All India Devotional Song Competition Committee, Katra, said a live telecast of the event will be available on PTC Punjabi Gold from 9 PM onwards and entry for this event will be free to all. He said Bollywood singers and former winners of Mega Finals including Shanker Sawhney, Amrinder Bobby, Naveen Punjabi, etc will also perform.
Ganesh Jain said the All India Devotional Song Competition has helped in the promotion of Tourism. “It has given a platform to many singers including Himani Kapoor, Mool Raj, Paramjit Singh Pamma, Naveen Punjabi, Rajan Gill, Sonali Dogra, Ravi Kumar, Sanjeet Kumar, Anjusha, Sonali Dogra, Vanshkia Jaral, Ananya, etc. Himani Kapoor has sung in many films including Dil Diya Hai, Chingari, Oye Lucky Oye, Fool & Final, Bachna Ae Hasino, etc,” he said
He said other winners are also doing well in the film Industry. “Film industry doors are always open for AIDSC participants,” he said.
Wazir said the winner will get Gold worth Rs 3 Lakh and a recording contract. The first runner-up will get Rs one lakh and the second runner-up will get Rs 50,000.
