A day after SIT Chairman into Hyderpora ‘Encounter’ warned political leaders of “appropriate penal action” for making “speculative” statements over ‘still ongoing investigation’, National Conference president Dr. Farooq Abdullah Thursday termed the report as ‘wrong’ even as reiterating demand for a judicial enquiry into the matter.

Responding to the questions of media persons outside Tagore Hall here, Dr. Farooq said that ‘the Police report is false’. “Police has done it to save itself…they have been killed by the police and there is no doubt in it”, he said.

Demanding a judicial enquiry into the matter, the senior political leader said “I understand a judicial enquiry be done into it”, he said adding police should not do such acts, which may cause agony to the hearts of people.”

Dr. Farooq on a question on Delimitation Commission report said that his party has framed a response and the same would be made public soon. “We have framed a response and will be put forth before the (Delimitation) Commission”, he said adding “everyone will know it.”

On ‘Real Estate Summit’, he said reaction to it is evident from across the world. (GNS)
