Two days after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi Gandhi was stopped by the police while he was marching towards Hathras ,he will once again attempt to go to the Uttar Pradesh district on Saturday along with a delegation of other Congress MPs. AICC Incharge of Uttar Pradesh, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, will also be accompanying them.

The Gandhis will try to meet the family members of the 19-year-old who was allegedly gang-raped and killed in a village of Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras district.

“No force in the world can stop me from going to Hathras and meet the victim’s family, share their grief,” Rahul tweeted in Hindi on Saturday.

It may be recalled that the Wayanad MP was detained on Thursday and a case has been registered against him, his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and over 200 others under sections 188, 269 and 270 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Epidemic Act by the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police.

Congress has also called an urgent meeting of its MPs at the party headquarters before the delegation leaves for Hathras. All the MPs present in the capital have been asked to attend the meeting.

Rahul Gandhi was also supposed to participate in a tractor rally in Punjab on Saturday. However, the tractor rally against the controversial farm laws has been postponed to Sunday.

In a related development, two new audio tapes have gone viral in which some people are said to be talking to the victim’s family and asking them to wait for the arrival of Congress leaders. The audio clips have raised questions against the Congress party’s in the Hathras case.

The people in the clips can also be heard asking the family to wait for the arrival of Congress leaders Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi before making the statement. In one of the clips, some unknown people are asking the victim’s brother Sandeep to stay at home until Priyanka Gandhi arrives. The person talking to the victim’s family is also heard suggesting them not to settle for Rs 25 lakh but to ask for Rs 50 lakh compensation.

DNA India does not confirm the veracity of both audio clips.

The 19-year-old Dalit woman was allegedly gang-raped in Hathras by four men. She died at Delhi`s Safdarjung hospital on Tuesday morning. ( DNA )
