Opposition parties on Thursday staged a walk out from the Jammu and Kashmir legislative assembly to demand a resolution over attacks on students and businessmen studying and working outside the state.
As soon as proceedings of the House began today, NC and Congress legislators stood up and raised the issue of assault on a student in Haryana.
The opposition demanded that Assembly should pass a resolution to recommend to the president of India to ensure safety of Kashmiri students and businessmen in other states.
On Friday, two students from Rajouri were assaulted by a group of fifteen persons in Mahendragarh town of Haryana while they were returning to the university after offering Friday prayers.
As government didn’t respond to the demand, the entire opposition staged a walkout from the House.
