Jammu, Feb 04 : The Legislative Assembly on Wednesday adjourned for 15 minutes after pandemonium, with ruling alliance MLAs demanding that Leader of the Opposition Sunil Sharma apologise for his purported remarks against the Pir Panchal region.

As soon as Question Hour ended, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Congress MLA Iftikhar Ahmad from Rajouri stood up, demanding that the Leader of the Opposition apologise for his remarks against the Pir Panchal region. Other MLAs of the ruling alliance also rose and supported the demand.

The BJP MLAs stood up in response to counter the protesting lawmakers from the ruling alliance.

“Dixon Plan Nahin Chalega, Dixon Plan Nahin Chalega (The Dixon Plan will not work),” the BJP MLAs shouted back.

Amid slogans and counter-slogans, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary accused the BJP of insulting the sacrifices made by the people of Pir Panchal for the country.

With commotion continuing in the House, the Speaker adjourned proceedings for 15 minutes—(KNO)
