PDP widens lead to 1,521 votes after 5th round in Budgam bypoll

The Peoples Democratic Party has further consolidated its lead in the Budgam Assembly by-election, with its candidate Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi ahead by 1,521 votes after the fifth round.

As per the figures available with news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Aga Muntazir has secured 6,821 votes, while National Conference candidate Aga Syed Mahmood Al-Mosavi has polled 5,300 votes.

Muntazir is now leading by 1,521 votes from the National Conference candidate.

Independent candidate Mohd Sameer Bhat follows with 2,176 votes, while Jibran Dar has bagged 1,694 votes and Nazir Ahmad Khan got 1,497 votes so far.

Counting is in progress for the remaining rounds—(KNO)
