Illusion.
But nothing lasts forever,
Everything fades away.
Sometimes, we wish for a moment
to stay,
But like sand it slips away.
For Time is our biggest foe,
For it consumes our being.
Teaches us the bitter truth,
That forever is an illusion.
Procrastinate but we,
To ease the misery of our
ailing heart.
But being a tyrant,
It compels us to accept.
That everything is impermanent,
Except for impermanence itself!

Glimpse
A Glimpse Out Of My Balcony
By Hurmat Altaf
Chaos in the world outside,
Suffering in all directions.
Demon wandering all around,
Consuming each being like chronos.
Mind engulfed by deadly thoughts,
Who knows? May be I am next!
A glimpse out of my balcony,
Brought with it a worthy forgetfulness.
Beauty of nature all around,
Brought with it a bliss.
For a glimpse of time,
Got engrossed in her eternity.
For nature brings with it serenity,
And thus lulled my heart in her arms.

From Womb To Tomb.
Shedding off life,
From its branches.
Trees leaving behind,
The decaying Chinar.
Falls it painfully,
In the lap of Jhelum.
To get lost in its depth,
For an eternal rest.
Depth from where,
No one ever returns.
For fall is inevitable,
Even for the young Chinar.
Fascinating it is different,
While being in the same vicious circle!
