Srinagar, July 19, KP: Jammu Kashmir Police and Army have been giving helping hand to visiting Amarnath Yatris in Kashmir Valley.
Police personnel from Nowgam Police Station here in Srinagar city arranged an SRTC vehicle for the stranded Armarnath pilgrims on way towards Jammu from Baltal, when their private vehicle developed some technical fault on Nowgam bypass.
As the vehicle (JK02AE-2020) carrying 44 yatris came to a halt at Nowgam Bypass, Jammu Kashmir Police personnel surrounded it and they not only took care of the pilgrims but also arranged an SRTC vehicle for them. “It is our duty to take care of these guests. It was good to see locals greeting and helping them,” a police official on spot told KP.
Meanwhile, a tempo traveler (JK02BB 1029) which was part of the Amarnath Yatra convoy, skidded off the road near Wussan area of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. “Good coordination with the police ensured that the recovery team of the Army reached the spot in quick time and recovered the vehicle. “Yatris in this vehicle were adjusted in another vehicle and proceeded along with the convoy. Necessary repairs to the vehicle were carried out by the Army. The vehicle was dispatched to the Base Camp, Manigam after carrying out the repairs.”
