The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) today urged the Government to restore the security to its party leaders and district presidents in JK.
The party also expressed dismay over the indifferent attitude of the Government to the security issue of Congress party functionaries.
The JKPCC in a statement has urged the Government to provide adequate security to its party leaders and district presidents in JK in order to ensure their safety, as that, the prevailing situation was not conducive given the recent political killings in north Kashmir and south Kashmir.
The party expressed surprise over the attitude of the Government with regard to security of Congress functionaries and said that Congress has always been at the forefront to safeguard the national interest while having given sacrifices for the Nation and people, which could not be denied.
The party urged the Government not to discriminate with the Congress party on account of security to its leaders and ensure that the party leaders are provided security keeping in view the current hostile circumstances especially in Kashmir.
“There was fear among the Congress party leaders whose security have been downsized without caring for their safety,” PCC added and sought adequate security cover to its leaders.
