Pulwama Police rescue Gujjar Families, shift ailing persons to hospital amid Snowfall

Braving harsh weather conditions, Pulwama Police undertook sustained rescue efforts across the district to ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable sections of society affected by the inclement weather.

A Police spokesperson said, In one such rescue operation, an ailing member of a Gujjar family was rescued from his juggie and safely shifted to Sub-District Hospital Rajpora for medical treatment. In another timely intervention, a 6-year-old child, Mohd Ibaad, resident of Shadimarg, Check Dangerpora, was rescued from his residence and shifted to the hospital for immediate medical assistance.

Pulwama Police also extended assistance to members of the Gujjar community residing in juggies whose shelters were damaged due to heavy snowfall. All affected persons were safely rescued and shifted to nearby safe locations to protect them from the harsh weather conditions.

The swift and compassionate response of Pulwama Police reflects its unwavering commitment to public service, humanitarian assistance, and people-centric policing, especially during natural calamities. Pulwama Police appeals to the general public to remain vigilant and contact the nearest police unit in case of any emergency during adverse weather conditions.
