Reckless Scooty Riders Booked in Anantnag After Viral Stunt Driving Video

Anantnag, Mar 27 : Authorities in Anantnag took swift action after a video surfaced on social media showing two scooty riders indulging in rash and stunt driving, posing a serious threat to public safety.

According to details available with news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, acting under the direct supervision of SSP Traffic Ravinder Pal Singh, a team led by DySP Traffic Anantnag Mohd Aslam, along with DTI and other officials, traced the vehicles and identified the violators after sustained efforts.

The scooty riders, identified as Basit Farooq, son of Farooq Ahmad Mir, and Mohd Salik, son of Nazir Ahmad Sofi, both residents of Nai Basti Khanabal, were found riding in a dangerous manner on public roads, official said.

Officials said the riders not only violated traffic norms but also created nuisance, endangering lives and increasing the risk of accidents. The violators were summoned to the office of DySP Traffic Anantnag, where they were counselled about traffic rules and road safety.

Authorities further stated that both individuals have been challaned under relevant provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, and strict action will continue against such violations to ensure road discipline and public safety. (KNC)
