Baramulla, Mar 30 : Deputy Commissioner Syed Fakhruddin Hamid on Monday announced that a structured rehabilitation initiative has been underway for nearly a year, with the administration working tirelessly to ensure comprehensive support.

The programme, being executed in coordination with volunteers of “Save Youth Save Future,” is designed to provide a holistic package including employment, self-employment opportunities, and various government welfare schemes to the affected families, the DC said.

Stressing the administration’s commitment, DC Baramulla informed that regular interactions involving both civil and police administration are being conducted to assess grievances and address concerns on the ground.

“Over the past year, significant progress has been made, and we are now intensifying our efforts to ensure that no eligible family is left out,” the Deputy Commissioner said, adding that issues related to children’s education, dependency, and lack of awareness have been identified for policy-level intervention.

The initiative will be further strengthened at the sub-regional level, with plans to establish a single-window system for self-employment schemes, including MUDRA loans and skill development programmes, he added.

DC Baramulla said a two-month timeline has been set for the resolution of all pending cases to achieve “100 per cent saturation,” with awareness drives to be conducted wherever necessary to ensure maximum outreach. (KNS)
