Dr Tasaduk Hussain Itoo,  Chairman J & K Innovative Foundation For Transforming Society ( JKIFTS ) today said that safety of healthcare professionals who deal with Covid-19 cases must be ensured in every possible aspect without any compromise.
Talking to Kashmir Pen, Dr Tasaduk said “Healthcare professionals including doctors, nurses and other paramedics who are coming in direct contact with the Covid-19 patients,  are at higher risk of contracting the infection”
He said that Covid-19 being highly contagious poses a highest risk to those who are exposed with the cases and therefore necessary protection must be ensured in the form of recommended PPE and other precautionary equipments.
He said that many doctors including paramedics in various countries have lost their lives contracting infection while dealing with positive cases during ongoing Covid-19 Pandemic.
He further said that a well insurable policy should be in place for healthcare professionals who work at risk in treating the Covid-19 patients in multiples of hospitals in the erstwhile state.
“Only those hospitals should be reserved as Covid-19 centers that have better health infrastructure, better facilities and are coming under policy- designed by the respective legislative government and as per laws of medical ethics.”, he added.
