Smile Traverses Far & Wide

Dejected and desolate,pain piercing through the dim valley of heart
I looked around, for a shoulder to chase my blues away,falling apart
Chores,talking with a friend and trying to write in vain
Every effort to forget those knife like words failed to mitigate the pain
In reflection,a memory sparked- it was a whisper from my window of the past
Mom’s wise musings came to me like a forecast
“Share Smile” She would say, “see it shine and sparkle like sunflowers”
Golden yellow ebullience infuses joy in being like snowy showers
Embracing the ambassadors of hope on the salvers of sunshine
I resolved to stop all fret,troubling me- no more whine
She talked of poetry,music and all that is pious
Like vivacious vibes of sunflower,she always smiled
She smiled to the morning walkers who smiled back
To the children playing in the open spaces
The children’s guffaw,naive and pure
Touched many walking and talking in the park
This infectious smile made way to many passers-by
Who smiled with happy vibes and walked their homes
Met vendors- selling goods, made them smile wide
A vendor passed this smile to the old lady who stood by his side
A feast for sore eyes, raised her spirits
Another life became blissful like red bride
The old lady, humble and charmed,made jubilant cries
Reached home after offering prayers to Almighty in temples
Shared with her sons and daughter in laws a smile so bright
The home was resounding with everyone’s vivid visage of starry delight
The smile spread every nook and corner of the home
It was received by everyone who visited the place- aww! gilded glee roamed
Blooming,healing with warmth the wounded hearts
The smile traversed far and wide navigating through many aches and darts
It made me smile as I hummed with sunflower symphonies
My mother was right- enlightened me with an epiphany!
