Srinagar, 3rd April 2025: A meeting was held today under the leadership of Mr. Sameer Baktoo, Chairman – Travel Agents Association of India, Jammu & Kashmir Chapter, with the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Mr. Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, to address concerns regarding access for company representatives to receive customers from Srinagar Airport.
The meeting was attended by office bearers of the TAAI Jammu and Kashmir Chapter, along with several senior members of the association. During the discussion, the Divisional Commissioner assured full support in resolving the issue. It was proposed that the Department of Tourism would issue exclusive identification cards specifically for authorized company representatives. These cards would enable representatives to pick up customers directly from the airport, streamlining the process and ensuring a smooth experience for tourists.
Director Tourism Kashmir, Mr. Raja Yaqoob, proposed that a company’s letterhead along with a valid Aadhaar card should be treated as a legitimate pass for entry into the airport. He assured that urgent communication with relevant authorities would be initiated, committing full support to resolve the issue promptly.
The TAAI Jammu and Kashmir Chapter is optimistic that the issue will be resolved on priority, providing much-needed relief to its members. This initiative is expected to enhance the convenience and hospitality extended to tourists visiting the region.
The TAAI Jammu and Kashmir Chapter expresses its gratitude to Mr. Vijay Kumar Bidhuri and Mr. Raja Yaqoob for their cooperation and support in addressing this crucial issue.
