 Srinagar, Apr 14 : Seven residential houses were damaged in a midnight fire in the Chandpora area of Nowhatta in summer capital city Srinagar Tuesday, officials said.

The fire broke out around 1 am and quickly spread to adjoining structures, they said.

Fire and Emergency Services personnel, assisted by police and local residents, battled the flames for nearly an hour before bringing the blaze under control.

No loss of life or injury has been reported in the incident, the officials added.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. (KNS)
