Anantang, June 16: In a deadly attack, six policemen including Station House Officer Police Station Achabal were killed when militants attacked their vehicle near Tajwar area of Achabal in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday.

   The deceased SHO has been identified as Feroz Dar. Two civilians were also injured during the attack both them have been hospitalized.

     Reports said that militants ambushed the police vehicle that was on way towards the police station. The militants reportedly after lobbing a grenade resorted to indiscriminate firing, killing all the six on board.

Militant outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba has claimed the responsibility of deadly attack on a police party that resulted in the death of five policemen including an officer.

     LeT spokesperson Dr Abdullah Ghaznavi in a statement to news agency CNS claimed that six policemen were killed in the attack carried out by outfit militants at Tajwahr Achabal area of South Kashmir’s Anantang district.  (CNS)
