Srinagar, January 4: In a significant boost to emergency healthcare infrastructure, the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) has inducted 60 new bed-cum-trolleys into its Emergency Area to enhance patient care and management.
The facility was formally dedicated by Director & Ex-Officio Secretary to Government (EOSG) SKIMS, Prof. M. Ashraf Ganie, in the presence of the Director Finance, Additional Director SKIMS, and the Head of Hospital Administration.
The augmentation is expected to substantially improve patient handling in the high-load emergency department, which receives referrals from across Kashmir and adjoining regions. Officials said the addition will aid in smoother patient movement, timely clinical intervention, and better utilization of emergency spaces.
With the implementation of structured triaging and the creation of dedicated specialty bays, patient flow within the emergency unit has been streamlined, resulting in reduced congestion and an improved experience for patients and their attendants.
SKIMS authorities reiterated their commitment to continuously upgrading hospital infrastructure and services to meet growing healthcare demands and ensure quality, patient-centric care for the community | Kashmir Pen
