Our lanes and streets are red. Nights dark and days curfewed. Mothers celebrate in every nook and corner of the world while delivering a baby, but here in Kashmir it is totally different, mother’s mourn here while giving a birth to child, Keeping in view the coffins of the youngsters and the rape victims Aasiya and Neelofar.
Everything turned deserted here, Imprisonments, Half widows, wailing mother’s, rape victims, disappearances, pellets, bullets, pava shells, cordon and search operations, killings and much more. Over all a nude death dance in Kashmir. The threat of returning back to the shelter and wave of uncertainty engulfed the whole valley of Kashmir.
The youngsters who were the future builders of Kashmir are nowadays buried in graveyards. Everything is ruined here. The mosques are locked and people are not allowed to offer prayers. Representatives are jailed either for one or the other reason.
But Alas! Politicians are politicising the dead bodies and miseries of Kashmiris.
On another hand, undoubtedly Kashmir is the land of dreams and aspirations for everyone across the globe, whosoever visit Kashmir once , desirous to come again in this heaven on earth, God blessed Kashmir an external exquisiteness and unending charisma, but we are rapidly devastating Kashmir nowadays. The natural assets, attractive spots for picnic, the refreshing meadows and forests, sweet streams and water bodies, which were sometimes the part and parcel and most important element of our lives are nowadays sacred and about to end only because of we people. We are rapidly converting forests in timber for smuggling and financial arise and are using the most beautiful area as dustbins. Traders especially hoteliers who are completely dependent upon the natural beauty are themselves ruining the same by dumping and throwing the garbage in skirts of the campus.
Everything which is adding the beauty to Kashmir is under radar of threat nowadays, as we are destroying the life long and most valuable things for gaining a small and meagre compensation.
Our conscience is dead and that very slept and dead conscience is responsible for the irreparable losses in Kashmir.
As Dreaming about freedom is not bad, but we all should have an ablution first, as the victims and the accused both are among us, The Kashmiri policemen and rebels, stone pelters, freedom fighters and an informer. From both an ends we are at the extinction, killing one another, but no one among us is ready to blow a hammer to conscience and we are letting our conscience sleep.
The religious organizations divided and bifurcated us on different sections and we are treating one another as thieves and illiterates on the basis of such divisions of religion. We are keeping a cat’s eye and tagging one another as Barelvi, Hanafi, Shafi, rather than calling one another as Muslim.
Day by Day, we are loosing everything, the live stock, natural beauty and assets as well our blooming youngsters. If the conscience remains slept for few time more. The days are not so far that the worst and unrecoverable image of Kashmir will be on the cards.
It is high time to blow a hammer to our conscience and wake up . The need of an hour is to decide collectively over the Kashmir issue, either to support freedom struggle once at all and stop the non sense act of selling out blood of our brothers. Or choose any alternative path which can save lives of our youth and protect the dignity of our mothers and sisters.
Also we should come out of homes and protect the natural resources and the beauty of Kashmir and work out as volunteers to stop pollution and say no the hazardous elements like polythene to protect environment. As we have a number of ways more to add beauty to Kashmir by afforestation and installing greenery.
Moreover we should bring all these religious leaders in a face to face discussion in order to choose a right track and kick out those who are befooling us for their mileage on the religious basis.
As I know my column here on a page of news paper is not going to change anything, as the things will remain same .
Heaps of columnists, scholars and other intellectuals are trying to show Kashmiris their real image and a way to come out from the disaster . But through an article here I request the intellectual class of the society that get in touch with one another and be united to change the scenario of Kashmir. Because the responsibility lies on your shoulders and bureaucrats and social activists like Inam un Nabi and Shah Faisal are the real stake holders and representatives of the society and are competent to change things for better tomorrow.
