SRINAGAR 08 Jun : A truck driver from the Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district was killed after his vehicle overturned on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) near Nachlana in Banihal tehsil of Ramban district on Monday morning.
Officials said that a canter truck bearing registration number JK02DU-9275 was travelling from Kashmir towards Jammu when it overturned near Nachlana, resulting in the driver’s death at the scene.
The deceased has been identified as Mohd Zafar, son of Mohd Kassim, a resident of Pampore.
Following the accident, police and rescue teams rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Banihal for medico-legal formalities.
The exact cause of the accident was not immediately known.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated further investigation.
