Srinagar, Apr 11 : Suneem Khan on Saturday welcomed the launch of the “Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyaan,” saying the initiative reflects a firm resolve to tackle the drug menace in the Union Territory.

In a statement, Khan said the measures announced by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, including action against drug smugglers and seizure of their assets, mark a strong intervention against the spread of narcotics.

He said the campaign, backed by strict enforcement steps such as cancellation of passports and freezing of bank accounts of those involved in drug trafficking, sends a clear message against activities harming society.

Khan said the drug menace should be seen not only as a social issue but also as a serious challenge affecting the region’s future, particularly the youth.

He expressed support for the administration’s approach and said sustained efforts would be needed to ensure long-term impact.

The “Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir” campaign was launched earlier in the day in Jammu, with authorities outlining a multi-pronged strategy focusing on awareness, enforcement and rehabilitation over the next three months.(KNS)
