5th December, 2017: National Conference Leader and Political Secretary to Omar Abdullah, Tanvir Sadiq on Tuesday visited the victims of the devastating fire at Sheikh Colony Hawal in Shaher-e-Khaas where many residential houses were gutted in a fire incident and expressed his solidarity with them.
Accompanied by Block president Zadibal, Musthtaq Beigh, office bearers and other prominent citizens, Tanvir visited all the houses that had suffered loss and demanded immediate compensation to the affected families and said administration should ensure speedy relief and rehabilitation at all costs.
“The administration should ensure the rehabilitation of the affected fire victims on a war-footing as they were living under the open-sky and should take account the harsh weather and ensure heating and other arrangements” adding “They should be given free ration and other things till they make arrangements” Sadiq said.
Tanvir also conveyed the urgency of the matter to DC Srinagar Abid Rasheed & requested him to immediately do whatever is necessary in ensuring immediate rehabilitation and compensation.
