The Ecotourism Society of Kashmir held a meeting today with the Director of Tourism Kashmir and senior veterans of the society. Various issues pertaining to the travel and tourism sector were discussed in depth.
A significant portion of the discussion focused on the proposed amendments to the Tourist Act, which have been made available for public review by the Department of Tourism, Government of Jammu and Kashmir. Several concerns regarding these amendments were raised, and it was requested that the review period be extended to allow stakeholders sufficient time to thoroughly read and deliberate on the proposed changes.
