Srinagar, Aug 10 : Authorities at Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences Soura have deprived scores of private security guards from their earned salaries.
SKIMS have availed the services of security guards of a private company namely ‘Eagle’ and from past three months neither the SKIMS nor the private company has been crediting their bank accounts with monthly salary.
“There are over 175 security guards that have been performing round the clock duties in the Institute. From past three months all have been deprived from their monthly salaries. There is a blame game going on between the SKIMS and the Company,” said a security guard to news agency CNS.
Another security guard blamed SKIMS management for the mess. He said that it was SKIMS that used to disburse the salary but from past three months they have been telling us to approach the company.
“We have cleared all the liabilities and it is the private company that has to pay salaries to them. We provide salaries to these security guards through Company,” said an official at SKIMS.
However, when the head of the company Muhammad Altaf was contacted, he said they have already provided the bank account numbers of security guards to the SKIMS management. “The SKIMS has their bank accounts and prior to this development, it was SKIMS itself that used to disburse salaries. We have no role in disbursing salaries,” he said.
