Poonch: 04 Aug : Three people and 13 heads of livestock were rescued by Poonch Police late last night after they got stranded in Betar Nallah due to a sudden rise in water level caused by intense rainfall.

Officials said that police teams rushed to the spot upon receiving information about people and livestock trapped in the nallah.
A swift rescue operation was launched and all three persons along with 13 livestock were safely evacuated from the site. No injuries or loss of life was reported.
Police have advised locals and nomads to avoid crossing water bodies and low-lying areas in view of inclement weather and the forecast of further rainfall in the coming days.
