Traffic on the Srinagar-Jammu highway was suspended on Tuesday after a landslide occurred on Jammu Highway in Ramban District.
According to reports, the landslide occurred near Cafeteria turn this morning. According to officials, work is underway to remove the debris of the landslide from the highway and the highway will be restored for traffic today.
Hundreds of vehicles are reportedly stranded due to the suspension.
“The road clearance will take 2 to 3 more hours” a senior officer while talking to said.
Due to the road blockade, hundreds of Jammu bound trucks which were released for traffic on late night Monday from Qazigund are now again stuck on the highway between Ramban and Ramsoo areas, an official said.
“Besides, the scheduled passenger traffic for today from Jammu to Srinagar has also been stopped at Nagrota and Udhampur” he added.
