Hundreds of labours, students, patients and their attendants belonging to different parts of Jammu and Kashmir stranded in different parts of India including Patiyala, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh are without food, shelter there and demand early evacuation.
Scores of stranded students told that they belong different areas of J&K and are without money, food and shelter.
They said that we are living here without any shelter and are unable to sleep here due to the fear.
“Whatever we earned, we have spent it all and are now without essential commodities and we fear we will die hungry here,” said a labour among them.
“Temperature has risen and we are unable to bear it as we don’t have any shelter here where we can live,” he said, adding that we will die if government won’t rescue us.
Meanwhile families of stranded labours are also very worried about their loved ones and have requested government to facilitate their return.
A pregnant lady from Khul Ahmadabad area of Kulgam district said that her husband is stranded in Himachal Pradesh and I have old aged parents home who are on medicines.
“If he won’t be allowed to return, who will take our care as my delivery time in expected in coming day,” she said while demanding return of his husband at an earliest.
Meanwhile attendants and patients from different areas have also told Press Trust of Kashmir (PTK) that they have acute shortage of money besides essential items.
A lady from Baramulla stranded near PGI chandigarh demanded evacuation who has taken her father for treatment to PGI two months before.
“Whatever we had, we spent on his treatment and we are running out of money,” she said while pleading for help.
Meanwhile hundreds of families of the district mainly from upper reaches have appealed government to bring back their loved ones as they don’t have any facilities there.
Further many families have also said that they are running short of essential commodities and have no money to buy essentials as their only earners are stranded in Himachal.
Stranded labours, students atendants and patients and their relatives have appealed Central government and Jammu and Kashmir government to look into the matter at an earliest and take immediate steps to bring stranded labours back to valley.
