University of Kashmir marked International Women’s Day at its main campus with a programme themed “Give to Gain,” organised by the Department of Students Welfare (DSW).

Srinagar March 9: Vice-Chancellor Prof. Nilofer Khan highlighted the importance of empowering women through education and equal opportunities, stating that the progress of women leads to the advancement of society as a whole. Registrar Prof. Naseer Iqbal also underscored the need to promote inclusivity, dialogue and gender awareness within academic spaces.

The celebration featured a painting exhibition by students of the Institute of Music & Fine Arts displayed on the campus lawns, portraying themes of women’s strength, resilience and creativity. The programme also included a panel discussion on women’s empowerment.

Dean Students Welfare Prof. Parvez Ahmad attended the event, which was coordinated by Cultural Officer DSW Dr. Shahid Ali Khan.
